Our participant outcomes are as follows:
Participants will implement technology-based design thinking tools, such as rapid ideation, and a PBL planning template, to build a Global Action Project for their school.
Participants will utilize the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals as a PBL Global Education teaching tool in their classroom.
Participants will learn to use Global Competencies as a social emotional learning tool to inspire students to be #GlobalLeaders who can change the world.
Content and activities: Our content centers around two key pieces of our Global Leaders framework: The Global Competencies, and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. In addition, we utilize a research-based PBL template that guides teachers through their design sprint.
Time: Content is chunked into 10-15 minute blocks.
Process: Our process is a design sprint, meaning that teachers will be introduced to the foundational framework of the SDGs quickly, but thoroughly. From there, we will lead them through rapid ideation, as they identify one local issue facing their community that is reflected in an SDG. From there, we will support them as they design the first two phases of their Global Action Project. Our process relies heavily on peer-to-peer interaction.
