Session description

Learn how Ulster BOCES integrates work-based learning and project-based learning in all of its student-based programs. We incorporate the High Tech High PBL model and CREW cultural mindset into student lessons to help prepare all students for future jobs. Learn how ISTE resources help support our success.

Purpose & objective

Purpurse: To share how ISTE has impacted the Ulster BOCES’ project-based learning and work-based learning models designed to help students prepare for future jobs

Objective: To present a model that others can modify and adopt for their setting

Goals:
1. Participants will learn about the Ulster BOCES PBL & WBL programs
2. Participants will view how we use ISTE Commons, ISTE resources and ISTE Standards to support student and educator intellectual and emotional growth
3. Participants will be provided with suggestion on how to duplicate the process and programs
4. Participants will join a guided tour of the ISTE website to view resources

Following the strategies from Marcia L. Tates book "Sit and Get" Won't Grow Dendrites...participants will be active and have time to share. Music and movement will be included in this session

Snapshot Outline
1. Welcome and introduction 5 mins
2. Explain our program through pictures and stories 10 mins
3. Share how we utilize ISTE to support student growth - through specific stories of success 10 mins
4. Wrap-up 5 mins

If this is converted into a 1-hour presentation, I will walk participants through our website and the ISTE website to highlight resources we use
