Session description

Co-teaching is an inclusive education model where a general and special educator work together in the same classroom to educate all students. They collaboratively plan, instruct and assess. Attend this session for a review of strategies for bringing technology into co-teaching to support the teaching partners and the students.

Purpose & objective

Purpose: The purpose of this session is to provide strategies and tips for co-teachers on how to co-plan, co-instruct, and co-assess together to support all the learners in their classrooms. Topics will include co-planning, the co-teaching models, and assessment strategies.

Objectives: Participants will learn how to leverage technology to overcome co-teaching obstacles. Participants will review strategies for how to effectively and efficiently plan. Participants will discuss techniques for co-instructing using the various co-teaching models. Participants will discover tips for planning equitable and effective instruction to support all their learners.

Challenge: Co-teaching is a popular model of inclusion, but it requires training and support to implement this model effectively. Research suggests that co-teachers need ongoing professional development. However, there are very few resources for co-teachers to use technology to collaborate and work together to support their students.
