Mrs. Osborn-Preston is a Google Certified Innovator and a National Board Certified Teacher as an Early Childhood Generalist. She is a proud graduate of the University of Texas with a BA in Dance and a BA in Psychology and she earned a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from UNLV. As an educator for twenty-five years, she has served as a kindergarten teacher, technology teacher, instructional coach, and curriculum coordinator. When she is not teaching students to create and innovate with technology, she coaches teachers to reflect on their professional practice and advance their craft for the benefit of their students.

Session description

Google’s Applied Digital Skills is a free, project-based curriculum for teaching practical digital skills with real-life applications. We will dive into the curriculum, experience the platform as a student and set up a class as a teacher. Great for personal and professional development too. Let’s grow with Google!

Purpose: How might we provide students an opportunity to develop their digital skills through authentic, project-based learning?

The participant will investigate the Applied Digital Skills platform.

The participant will gain a repertoire of lessons and activities to facilitate the development of digital skills for students.
