Session description

Learn how Wilson County Schools developed and implemented an immersive project-based learning (PBL) experience based on the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and major career clusters. We'll unpack the planning process and how we brought in the local community to provide an authentic learning experience for our students.

Purpose & objective

The purpose of our poster session is to show our county's successes with creating and implementing a PBL experience for our students over the summer that integrates the sustainable development goal of ending world hunger. The participant outcomes for our session include:
-An overview of the SDGs and PBLs for a foundational understanding
-An understanding of the technology resources used for planning and implementation
-Access to our PBL for immediate implementation for poster attendees
-Shared strategies to help with the authenticity of the project (how to involve community partners, ideas on who and how to contact subject matter experts)
-Gain ideas on how they can create future PBLs and how to integrate the SDGs to create awareness of global issues
