Session description

Students may dream of being the next YouTuber, having a podcast or becoming some other type of media star. What are we doing to support them? Why not find ways of bringing your content to life while getting students to hone their content creation skills, and have fun while doing it!

Purpose & objective

In this session, we will explore how to connect relevant course content with content creation tools. We will learn more about how to get students to display their content knowledge in new ways through the types of media they already love to consume.

Intro (10 Minutes):
Examples of multimedia for content creation and social media
World Economic Forum research on leadership and social influence

Video Creation (10 Minutes):
Device-based activities - Demonstrate and seek participation in tools to create video content

Audio/Podcast Creation (10 Minutes):
Device-based activities - Demonstrate and seek participation in tools to create audio content

Other creation types (10 Minutes):
Peer-to-peer interaction to identify other tools and strategies to engage students who are reluctant to/not interested in creating audio or video content.
