Session description

Neuroscience is among the most impactful of the research sciences, and we have tremendous information about how the brain learns and makes connections. We will explore ways students and teachers can leverage that research, and the practical application of it, to revolutionize learning and teaching, and inspire new perspectives on the future of education.

Purpose & objective

The main objective is to equip attendees with the basic knowledge of how the brain works, and how the application of that information should drive learning & teaching. Not only will attendees come away knowing the basic physical functions, they will also understand the top 7-10 practical applications & practices they can apply to better meet the needs of their student's brains. Those applications include: sleep, working memory, the struggles of multitasking, and much more. Attendees will also have a better grasp on the impact of assessment and grades, especially where students are not provided opportunities to correct their mistakes or pause for reflection on what they have learned and how they can apply that learning.
