I am a Technology Coordinator and Edtech Trainer at Tabernacle Twp School District in New Jersey. I am also a TeachmeetNJ organizer, MIE/Minecraft Trainer, Microsoft Innovative Educator Expert & Minecraft Mentor.
Will King is the Director of Technology for the Bowling Green Independent Schools in Bowling Green, KY. He is currently in his 23rd year in education, serving as a teacher, literacy coach, freshman principal, and head principal. He is a 2013 Milken Educator Award winner.
Session description
TeachMeets are a model of teacher-driven professional learning that harnesses the dynamic energy that naturally comes in a gathering of passionate teachers. By having participants give short, sharp presentations with a clear focus on professional dialogue, TeachMeets allow teachers to voice their ideas in a supportive and fun environment.
Purpose & objective
A TeachMeet is a model of teacher-driven professional learning that harnesses the dynamic energy that naturally comes in a gathering of passionate teachers. The session is designed to have a teacher as the host, the presenters are drawn from the participants, they create short and sharp presentations and a clear focus on the professional dialogue of a given topic.

Outline
Attendees are given a choice of either a 2, 7, or 20 minute block in order to give their micro presentation. Generally this can be lecture style, BYOD, Interactive Lecture, or even audience volunteers. The structure is very spontaneous and changes with each presentation.
