Christie Thompson is a secondary teacher in Coweta County, Georgia with 22 years experience in education. She is also an adjunct professor at Thomas University where she teaches the Integration of Classroom Technology. In 2022, Christie was recognized as a GaETC Rising Star and the Nearpod North Star Educator of the Year. In 2023, she was honored as her school's Teacher of the Year. She has presented at the school, district, and even larger levels including both GaETC and OETC. Christie is an enthusiastic supporter of edtech and believes in its potential to enhance student learning experiences.

I am high school science teacher who has been with the Western Wayne School District for sixteen years, teaching 9-12 grade students, I have been in education for over 20 years. My teaching duties have included instructing advanced academic AP Biology classes. I have also instructed general science, biology, and chemistry in a regular classroom setting as well as co-taught classrooms. I have taught, supervised, and administrated Virtual Learning classes. Prior to my employment at Western Wayne School District, I also taught in two other school districts in Pennsylvania. I am currently certified in biology and chemistry in PA.

I am a math teacher from New Jersey with 18 years of teaching experience. Throughout my career, I have been passionate about student-centered learning and gamification. I have also been an active member of several district committees, working to improve district policies and programs for the benefit of our students. Recently, my students and I had the unique opportunity to test and co-develop a new product from Pear Deck called Giant Steps. It was an exciting journey and I am proud to have been a part of it. Google Certified Educator Level 1 and Pear deck Inspearational Educator.

Session description

Teachers must often search multiple places for student performance data and piece it together on their own. In this session we'll share how to build a real-time view of student performance using Google Classroom tools. You'll get tools and strategies to think creatively about collecting and analyzing formative data.

Purpose & objective

Participants will be able to:
- See how students are engaged in the digital learning environment
- Track progress on assignments and assignment turn-in rates
- Use data to inform instruction
