Lois Alston is an Instructional Technology Coach for the Long Branch School District in Long Branch, NJ. She is in her 6th year in this role and she has been in education for 20 years. She is passionate about implementing a variety of EdTech platforms to improve/enhance her colleague's instruction and add value to their student's learning. As a lifelong learner, she’s always looking for ways to keep students engaged with the material at hand to help prepare them for the future.

Alex Isaacs is an 8th-grade math teacher at Red Bank Middle School with seven years of full-time teaching experience. He is passionate about providing engaging content for students and teachers and specializes in multiple edtech platforms/tools. He believes in forming strong connections with his diverse learners first to foster a caring classroom community where students feel safe to be themselves.

Session description

How can we amplify creativity and foster more creative opportunities for our students? In this session, learn how educators can use Adobe Express to cultivate and amplify creativity. Be ready to create and learn strategies to implement creative lessons across all content areas.

Purpose & objective

The objective of this session is to share how participating in meaningful creative opportunities can impact individuals and students on a global level. When this occurs, we better understand that creativity can affect others in a worldwide community. The presenters will share how creating and sharing Adobe Express graphics has impacted their careers and led to meaningful relationships with others across the globe. Participants will learn how to use Adobe Express to create and offer creative learning opportunities for their students so that every child’s needs and skills are better met through this digital tool. Adobe Evangelists, including Tanya Avarith and Jesse Lubinsky, have extensively shared the many benefits of fostering a more creative classroom with Adobe Express.

Outline

• Intro slide with cover image and title of the session. (5 minutes)

• Presenters will share their collaborative Adobe Express Wakelet collection and other Adobe creations made by students in their districts. (5 minutes)

• Presenters will share how Adobe Express has allowed them and their students to create and share globally using social media. (5 minutes)

• Bitly link will be displayed, bringing participants to a remixable identity graphic template on Adobe Express. Presenters will model how to edit this template and be facilitators as participants complete their graphics. (25 minutes)

• After completing their graphic, the presenters will share practical strategies to post Adobe Express digital content on social media. Attendees will then have the opportunity to post their creations on a social media platform of their choice. (5 minutes)

• Presenters will then model how this activity can be adapted to a classroom setting where students participate in more meaningful creative opportunities. (10 minutes)

• Conclusion: Reflection/Q&A (5 minutes)
