Session description

Growing writers need a platform to have a voice and choice, and to record their thinking. The session will model the importance of Writer's Notebooks being connected to the real world, technology and student ownership of learning. You'll connect with technology as you write about the world, with the world.

Purpose & objective

The Global Write is used by 163 schools all around the world. Participants will be provided with experience for all ages that develops thinking, creativity, and student's voice. A place where learners can write about the world with the world.

With a weekly task, learners from all over the world can submit their work and be provided with an authentic global audience. In the session, there will be a model of how to set up personalized lessons for class needs. Participants will engage with AR experiences in Refugee Camps, meet youth leaders changing the world, and learn how the SDGs play a huge part in classroom learning.

View the Gallery here https://theglobalwrite.com/gallery/ to see the success of this work in classrooms from all over the globe.

With the integration of media literacy, tools such as Microsoft FLIP, Wakelet, Buncee to name a few, and YouTube bring the world to students' fingertips.

The choice is given by multiple prompts that address all learning needs. Students are the leaders of their learning.

Lessons are provided with clear instructions, and all are linked to a gradual-release instructional model.
