Josh is the co-founder and CEO of Halo AR, with a vision to build a global learning layer for the real world, powered by augmented reality and an empowered community of creators worldwide. Trained as a high school science teacher, he received an MA in Education and a BA in Human Biology from Stanford. Halo AR has been awarded grants from the National Science Foundation and U.S. Department of Education, raised funding from top Silicon Valley investors, and launched products that have been sold on shelves across the country and reached tens of thousands of happy customers.

Session description

Pokémon Go and Ready Player One have primed your students for the interactive immersive future, but as a teacher I realized existing static learning materials don't cut it. I'll get you started with apps that enable you to bring teaching to life with AR in seconds, no experience needed.

Purpose & objective

I intend for the audience to walk away with two main points: 1. that there is a compelling reason for them to right away explore how AR can enhance their classrooms, and 2. that new tools such as Halo AR make it easier than ever before for them to start this exploration on their own within minutes, with no technical experience required and at no expense.
