Dr. Starla Townsend is a forward-thinking educational leader with a passion for inspiring innovation in learning. As Director of Instructional Technology for Cobb County Schools, she brings over 20 years of experience in K–12 education, higher education, and technology integration. She is the creator of the Learning Innovation Design (LID) Framework, a student-centered model that shifts learners from passive technology users to empowered creators. Rooted in real-world relevance and problem-based learning, LID supports deep engagement with academic standards. Recognized by the Georgia Department of Education, LID promotes teacher growth through job-embedded learning while preparing students to design what’s next.
