Session description

Attendees will explore practical examples, resources, and strategies for integrating AI chatbots into higher education classes. This session will also feature examples of AI chatbots created by undergraduate and graduate students in educational technology courses.

Outline

1. Introduction and Session Objectives (10 minutes)
-- Content: Brief overview of the session’s goals and how AI chatbots can enhance learning in higher education.
-- Engagement: Use a live poll (e.g., Mentimeter or Slido) to assess participants' familiarity with AI chatbots and gather expectations.
-- Process: Interactive poll followed by a brief discussion on how attendees envision AI chatbots in education.
--Showcase: Share curated list of AI chatbot tools, resources, and best practices for integrating them into higher education

2. Understanding AI Chatbots in Education (15 minutes)
--Content: Define AI chatbots and their applications in educational technology. Provide examples of how AI chatbots are currently being used in education.
--Engagement: Attendees will watch a brief example of a student describing her AI chatbot example.
--Process: Q&A session to clarify and explore initial reactions.

3. Showcasing Student-Created AI Chatbots Assignments (15 minutes)
--Content: Present examples of AI chatbot assignments created by undergraduate and graduate students. These examples will cover various academic disciplines and demonstrate how chatbots enhance learning outcomes. Share assignments, rubrics, and other resources.
