Session description

Time is finite, but teacher tasks are infinite. When professional development becomes just another box to check, it loses its effectiveness. This session will provide strategies to maximize teacher time and deliver engaging professional development that impacts classroom practice the very next day.

Outline

1. Introduction (5 minutes)

Content: Brief overview of the session objectives and importance of maximizing educator time in professional development.

Engagement: Icebreaker question: “What challenges do you face in providing effective professional development?”

Process: Encourage brief sharing among participants to establish a collaborative atmosphere.

2. Identifying Effective Strategies (15 minutes)

Content: Present research-based strategies for maximizing educator time during professional development.

Engagement: Use real-world examples and case studies to illustrate successful implementations.
Process: Encourage audience questions and discussions to foster connection to their specific contexts.

3. Collaborative Professional Learning Plan Development (15 minutes)

Content: Guide participants in creating a personalized professional learning plan tailored to their district or school goals.
