Session description

How do we make staff training both engaging and unforgettable? Cracking the Code is a learning experience that immerses staff in cybersecurity challenges. In this session, participants step into the role of detective! AND that is not all! Let's discuss strategies to bring relevance and FUN back into professional learning.

Outline

25 min – Interactive Challenge: Cracking the Code
Participants will receive case files and work as digital detectives to analyze information, identify key cybersecurity risks, and determine whose actions may have led to a security breach.

15 min – Cybersecurity Overview
Discussion on our collaboration with the White House team, our role in supporting three counties, and the proactive steps we have taken to reduce vulnerabilities within our organization.

15 min – Case Analysis & Customization
A deep dive into how each case file was designed to highlight specific cybersecurity challenges within our organization. Participants will explore how we customized Cracking the Code to meet institutional needs and discuss additional resources.

5 min – Q&A & Reflection
Participants will reflect on their own cybersecurity landscape, leaving with the question: What vulnerabilities exist in your classroom, school, or district, and how could training help mitigate them?
