Session description

Developing expert thinkers with FUNecole means nurturing critical and creative minds through an engaging, interactive learning journey. FUNecole combines technology, storytelling, and project-based activities to empower students with 21st-century skills like problem-solving, collaboration, and digital literacy—all while keeping the experience fun and meaningful.

Outline

1. Welcome & Introduction (5 minutes)

Content:

Brief overview of the session goals and structure

Introduction to FUNecole and its mission

Engagement Strategy:

Quick poll using Mentimeter or Kahoot: “What does empowering student learning mean to you?”

2. Overview of ISTE Standards 1.1 & 1.2 (10 minutes)

Content:

Explain ISTE Standard 1.1: Empowered Learner

Explain ISTE Standard 1.2: Digital Citizen

Highlight the skills these standards promote

Engagement Strategy:

Think-Pair-Share: “What are ways you currently support student agency or digital citizenship?”

3. FUNecole in Action: Aligning with ISTE Standards (15 minutes)

Content:

Showcase FUNecole features that align with 1.1 and 1.2

Provide examples of student work and real classroom use

Demonstrate FUNecole’s tools that support critical thinking, creativity, and ethical tech use

Engagement Strategy:

Interactive demo or brief walk-through on participants’ own devices

Small group discussion: “Where can you see this fitting into your teaching practice?”

4. Connecting with Transformative Learning Principles (10 minutes)

Content:

Present selected Transformative Learning indicators

Map how FUNecole fosters deeper thinking, student agency, and collaboration

Engagement Strategy:

Breakout groups: Match FUNecole elements with learning principles using a drag-and-drop tool or shared Jamboard

5. Hands-On Activity: Design a FUNecole-Inspired Lesson (15 minutes)

Content:

Participants create a mini-lesson or activity based on FUNecole principles and ISTE standards

Use a template provided in Google Slides or Canva

Engagement Strategy:

Peer feedback: Participants share ideas in pairs or small groups

Optional showcase: Volunteers briefly present their idea to the room

6. Wrap-Up & Q&A (5 minutes)
