Session description

In this hands-on session, leaders will use design thinking to develop a process, system, or tool that prioritizes people. Bring a problem of practice and leave with a proposed solution and implementation steps to empower educators and enhance your school’s success.

Outline

Welcome activity
10 min: Building community activity - Meet My Colleague. Partners learn about each other and prepare how to introduce the other person to a new group. Then partnerships pair up to make quads and do introducations. Repeat with quads into groups of 8.
5 min: Who’s Who in the Room. Celebrate the various roles of the people in the room such as school leader, district leader, teacher leader, etc.

Participants work through design thinking process with graphic organizer
10 min - empathize, broaden perspective
5 min - define
5 min - outcome -(vision casting)
5 min - ideate
5 min - prototype
5 min - feedback

30 min: Implementation science steps to build a team and take action with discussion among participants

5 min: closure
