Session description

Enhancing staff culture is key to teacher retention. We can foster a supportive environment by cultivating relationships, optimizing the use of collaborative spaces, fostering collaboration, and flipping how we offer PD to meet staff needs. Celebrating school-community partnerships builds citizenship in students and strengthens the sense of belonging among staff.

5 minutes- The Role of School Culture in Teacher Satisfaction
25 minutes- Strategies for Building Teacher Capacity and Collaboration, Strong Communities and Empowered Students
20 minutes- Learning Walks (Scheduled opening of teacher classrooms to showcase new strategies and innovative techniques or technology in order to build capacity, collaboration, and efficacy) and PD Slams (Short, high-energy, teacher-led presentations where educators share strategies, tools, or successes).
5minutes- A Call to Action (Attendees will leave with a list of actionable ideas to implement or personalize in their school district.)
