The purpose of this presentation is to highlight how one district promoted and modeled developmentally appropriate digital wellness by customizing iPads for early learners using Jamf Pro, an Apple MDM that leverages Apple's native mobile device management (MDM) framework to reduce distractions and curate digital choices for elementary students. The presentation highlights components of design thinking, including work with cross-district teams, student data privacy, and the evolving classroom of the future.
Participants will learn how we:
1. collaborated in establishing a vision, strategic plan, and ongoing evaluation cycle for the future of instructional technology in Minnetonka Public Schools.
2. maximized instructional time by transforming the use of iPads for teaching and learning at the elementary level, thereby reducing distractions and curating choices.
3. used design thinking to identify a problem and maximize the use of 1:1 iPads for learning at the elementary level.
4. worked with data privacy and the evolving classroom of the future.
5. worked within JAMF, the device management system, and in partnership with the tech department.
