Candice Breaux is the Career Academy Supervisor in the West Baton Rouge Parish School System. She previously served as the Supervisor of Instructional Technology and Career Tech Ed in the Iberville Parish School System. She is a former high school math teacher and principal who still teachers dual enrollment math classes when her schedule allows. Teaching is her passion and now she gets to teach those around her about career opportunities.

Cindy Vavasseur (Dr. V) is a Professor of Educational Technology and the Program Chair for Master of Educational Technology Leadership at Nicholls State University. Nicholls is an ISTE Certification Provider and the first University to gain this distinction on first submission. Dr. Vavasseur is also the 2021 ISTE Teacher Education Network Award winner for Excellence in Teacher Education, was on the ISTE 2022 conference team, and is an ISTE community leader.

Session description

Get resources, ideas and a plan for providing effective PD at little to no cost. You'll have options for synchronous virtual, face-to-face and asynchronous PD to bring back to your schoolor district.

Purpose & objective

The purpose of the presentation is to provide participants with improved methods of offering PD. The objective for this session is that participants will be able to create their own effective PD plan regardless of the school or district budget. Free available resources will be discussed along with opportunities found in all districts or schools. Participants will complete surveys during the presentation to provide input and therefore direct the conversation. Other resources used by participants will also be shared with others. A quick survey will be given at the end of the presentation to determine effectiveness and success.
