Session description

Create authentic, engaging projects that promote agency within the community and allow kids to create. You will see how we embed augmented reality, CLIPS, iMovie, GarageBand, LEGO, Keynote and more to involve our students in authentic projects that give them voice and choice throughout the design process.

Purpose & objective

The purpose of our presentation is to give participants exposure to hands-on, state science and social studies standard driven activities using a variety of digital tools which highlight student creativity, collaboration, agency, and engagement.

After our presentation, participants will begin to think and plan engaging student projects in new ways, utilizing digital tools and focusing on student creation and engagement, all while meeting and exceeding state standards. Participants will see specific student examples of these types of lessons and we will introduce and give hands-on experience using augmented reality (AR) apps, slow motion video recording techniques, LEGO Education STEM/robotic sets, audio/music recording apps, movie making apps, and more. Participants will see examples of past projects and how they connect with the community in important ways.
