I am just finishing my 29th year of teaching. I started 5 years in HS and then after receiving a Master's Degree in Middle-Level Education, I moved on to middle school where I have taught a range of 6th-8th grades. I am currently the eSports coach at my school where we run 3 seasons (Fall, Winter, and Spring) and belong to Garden State eSports. I am looking forward to growing my eSports program to incorporate all facets that go hand in hand with this growing

Session description

Esports is exploding in popularity. Schools across the world are starting to integrate esports into their after-school sports/clubs. Hear different perspectives on how they have launched and cultivated a successful program in their districts. Students, coaches, and IT admins in sending districts will share their story.

Purpose & objective

Attendees will be given an inside look at what it takes to launch an esports program and also hear first-hand what challenges were overcome to foster a successful esports program. Presenters will be sharing differing perspectives on their respective roles within the esports program. From the IT admin perspective (Kyle) as well as the head eSports coach (Lauren).
