Session description

Hear how, using Minecraft, a sixth grade student discovered their passion for supporting other students on their learning path and has been invited to collaborate with other elementary school students as a mentor to develop meaningful projects that focus on skills like collaboration, design thinking and creativity.

Purpose & objective

Come visit these mentors, learn form their experience and ignite design thinking in your classroom or at home.

It started with a game, a child who was distracted during his online classes, and it ended up in an amazing journey of learning and mentoring. By using Minecraft, this child discovered a passion for learning through gamification and was invited to participate in collaboration with the headroom teachers of 3rd grade at a girls-only school to successfully create projects.

Attendees will be able to learn form this life-changing experience.

During the presentation, attendees will learn how to create their own worlds and talk to the mentors to come up with ideas of new projects.

Even if you don’t know how to use Minecraft, attending this presentation will open a new world of possibilities for playing and learning at the same time.
