Session description

We'll blow the myth that math isn't a creative subject out of the water by sharing “Twist and Shout” (remix) templates and creating authentic assessments. Time for you to work “All Together Now” with your students to make the math classroom creative and engaging!

Purpose & objective

Participants will receive hands-on training using Canva. They will work on remixing templates to fit their students' needs and create authentic and engaging assessments.

Outline

Introduction (3-5 minutes)

I will teach them some basics of Canva such as how to search for specific templates and to create a new project. This portion will highly depend on the audience's needs. (10-15 minutes)

I will share various templates, and we will talk about ideas on how to use them besides the ones that I initially used them for. This will spark conversation about additional ideas which will be shared on a whiteboard template on Canva for the participants to access at will. (25-30 minutes)

Participants will have time to remix or create their own projects. They may even choose to collaborate with others or me. I will help with problems and learn from them while they are playing with Canva. (10-20 minutes)

I will wrap up with how to contact me and the information shared (3 minutes)
