Educational Technology Specialist
Sheryl Place, is an Educational Technology Specialist for BookWidgets. Prior to joining the team she was a veteran teacher with Miami-Dade County Public Schools. She knows and understands the joys and struggles of the classroom. Teaching, building capacity and infusing technology into classroom lessons are activities which she loves.
Sheryl began teaching in 1983 after receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in French Education from Michigan State University and continued to grow earning a Master's Degree from the University of Miami. Sheryl holds numerous credentials including Nearpod PioNear and certified trainer, FlipGrid Certified Educator, and more.

Session description
Lesson planning, peer-to-peer communication, classroom websites, video conferencing and so much more -- this, in a nutshell, is Microsoft Teams. Learn how to excel at using Microsoft Teams as a digital hub for learning in your classroom.
Purpose & objective
In this session, teachers will learn how to build a digital hub for their classroom created from Microsoft Teams. Throughout the session, teachers will be introduced to additional methods for using Teams by adding additional applications such as Microsoft Planner, OneNote, and Office while also integrating applications such as BookWidgets to enhance student learning and teacher creativity.
