Session description

Podcasting helps students develop lifelong skills, fostering creativity, communication and collaboration. Supported with a detailed case study of the SDG Warriors Podcast, this presentation focuses on the what, why and hows of student-led podcasts. Leave with tons of learning, inspiration and resources to begin your journey in podcasting for good.

Purpose & objective

For many students, speaking up is a much more natural way to communicate their ideas and thoughts than writing them down for an assignment. Herein lies the power of a student-led podcast. The realm of podcasting is a great place to find all four of the 4Cs in education (Creativity, Collaboration, Communication, Critical Thinking), it meets many ISTE standards for 21st-century learning in addition to aligning with the SAMR model. Podcasting facilitates students as they climb to the top of Bloom's Taxonomy.
Supported with a detailed Case Study of the SDG Warriors Podcast, this presentation focusses on the WHAT, WHY and HOWs of Student-Led Podcasts with insights from both student & mentor perspective.
