- Participants will experience the ISTE Standards in action in the context of an international project.
- Participants will understand the cultural differences that may impact a project focusing on access to devices, internet, and experiences in an international context.
- Participants will be inspired to make connections outside their own communities through private and public partnerships meant to empower students and educators.
Presenters will address the following items based on format and time.
- Presenters will share about the island of Anguilla and the educational system realities including the devastation of Hurricane Irma and the impact it has had on student learning
- Presenters will introduce Project Inspire, a part of The Anguilla Initiative, and explore how the project and nonprofit came to be
- Participants will explore an overview of the professional learning plan and content provided to teachers through Project Inspire and hear testimonials from teachers who are taking part in the project
- Participants will have a questions and answer session with the presenters
- Presenters will share the evaluation methodology and results used to measure impact of the project
- Presenters will share next steps and the plan for expanding the project to meet the needs of all students on the island
- Presenters will provide last words and a call to action for participants on how to connect with organizations to make change in communities in need
