Dr. Garrett serves as superintendent of a K-12 campus in North Carolina. Under her leadership, the campus enjoyed the success of meeting academic growth across content areas with all subgroups of students. The foundation of this work is creating equitable learning opportunities and a “whole child” approach emphasizing high quality instruction, STEM, SEL and College and Career Preparation. Prior to this role, she served as chief academic officer, building and district level administrator, and teacher. Dr. Garrett successfully supported and led school transformation efforts in multiple school districts achieving remarkable gains in student achievement and academic growth.

Session description

The pandemic and its aftermath still present educational environments with unprecedented times. In this presentation, we will share a low performing schools effort to innovate in support of families and scholars holistic well being. Interactively we will share bold measures in funding, partnerships, and innovation to navigate our way forward.

Purpose & objective

As a result of participating in this session, presenters will:
1. Identify communities of leaders still navigating post pandemic success
2. Learn strategic thinking processes to address the unprecedented instances within our learning communities
3. Learn strategies implemented to maintain learning and address unprecedented events.
4. Learn bold opportunities to address funding gaps, innovate, and cultivate partnerships to support post pandemic success.
