Presentation Outline:
Introduction (5 minutes)
Content: Brief overview of the session’s goals—using AI tools to save time, differentiate learning, and empower students.
Engagement: Introduce yourself and ask the audience what they hope to learn or take away. Use a live poll or quick show of hands to gauge familiarity with AI tools.
Overview of AI in Education (10 minutes)
Content: Discuss the growing role of AI in the classroom, focusing on tools like Magic School, ChatGPT, SchoolAI, and Brisk.
Engagement: Ask participants about their current use of technology in the classroom and how they see AI fitting into their practice. Field 1-2 questions.
Demonstration of AI Tools (15 minutes)
Content: Show how each AI tool works through live demonstrations of how you use them for lesson planning, report writing, and differentiating instruction.
Engagement: Field questions during demonstrations, allowing participants to share their thoughts. Offer a hands-on, device-based activity where they can explore one of the tools, like using ChatGPT to plan a quick lesson or draft a report.
Interactive Activity: Differentiating Learning with AI (10 minutes)
Content: Guide participants through an activity where they use one of the AI tools (e.g., Magic School or SchoolAI) to create a personalized lesson plan for diverse student needs.
Engagement: Pair participants up for peer-to-peer interaction to discuss how they’d modify the lesson for different student profiles. Field feedback from pairs.
Empowering Students with AI (10 minutes)
Content: Discuss how to introduce AI to students and teach them to use tools for self-directed learning.
Engagement: Encourage audience participation by asking how they might introduce AI to their students. Participants can try one of the AI tools themselves, experimenting with a student-friendly task.
Q&A and Reflection (10 minutes)
Content: Open the floor for questions and reflections on how AI can support professional learning goals and student growth.
Engagement: Use open-ended questions to spark dialogue, and provide space for participants to share how they might implement AI tools in their classrooms.
Process & Engagement:
Throughout the presentation, frequent opportunities for audience interaction will be integrated, including fielding questions, peer-to-peer discussions, device-based activities, and feedback sessions. Participants will have the chance to try AI tools firsthand, creating a dynamic and engaging learning experience.
