Purpose & objective

Though existing as a concept for less than two decades, podcasting has already become a new way for humans to share their thoughts, ideas, and stories with other people around the world. Over 50 million people listen to podcasts each month, that means there’s an authentic audience to whom share your stories.

The purpose of this session is to share how our school community, students, teachers & parents were benefited from creating a Podcast to extend learning and news using GarageBand and give you all the tips to start producing your own.

Garageband is an easy and powerful app to create great quality podcasts. This is your opportunity to create a genuine relationship with your listeners while using their imagination as your stage. Whatever your passion might be, podcasting has become one of the most effective ways to share it with your school community.

In the session participants will learn about:
* The importance of Podcasting when reaching out your school community, local and national.
* Apps and equipment recommended for creating your podcast
* Share sample podcast ideas
* Learn basic and essential Garageband skills for creating a podcast using an iPad.
* Demonstrate how to easily share and distribute podcasts through some of the best Podcast streaming platforms such as Spotify, Apple Podcast, Google Podcast, amongst others.
