CPSB Tech Points project is beginning its fifth year. With all of the demands on teachers and administrators our districts' professional development program was facing a large decline in participation in our classes. As a team we developed the tech points project which has turned our whole professional development program around. We offer a variety of means for professional development which includes webinars, face-to-face, blended, online as well as on campus. Since the inception of this project all of our classes have been filling up and teachers are excited and taking ownership of their own learning. This summer alone teachers earned 2000+ tech points.
The purpose of this poster presentation is:
• to have participants understand the tech points program and how it is integrated with our professional learning opportunities
• to share, with participants, how the program is funded as well as how choices are made to decide the technology tools that are in the tech points store
• to demonstrate how easy this program is to replicate and build their own tech points store within their district
• to share program data that has driven decision making leading to the success of this program.
We will use the following Tech Points and Tech Classes websites to share the project as well as professional development offerings. The websites are: https://www.cpsb.org/techcamp and https://www.cpsb.org/techclasses.
