Take a basic knowledge of stop-motion animation to the next level to explain a concept or tell a story. This session is for any teacher or any content area. In this workshop, you will build your own stop-motion animation using any portable device.

Proposal summary

Purpose & objective

The purpose is to integrate media arts into the learning process. Students will have the opportunity to learn and create at the same time in this project.

- Participants will know the Media Arts Production vocabulary to support students with stop motion animation projects
- Participants will follow the model of Arts Integration where learning in the arts and content area happen at the same time. Projects are also assessed in both areas.
- Participants will be able to see the level of student knowledge in their projects versus traditional testing.

Outline

10 minutes- Review of Types of Stop Motion Animation, Key Vocabulary and Stages of Production
10 minutes- Learn the features of the app and create a test animation
30 minutes- Create an animation that teaches a concept
10 minutes- Share Creations and Reflect
