Join ISTE Virtual Environments as we welcome experts in spatial technology to talk about research and applications as well as the future of AR and VR. This panel will provide insights into the current status of augmented and virtual reality, espcially in the roile it has played during the COVID-19 outbreak. Attendees will see not only applications, but also research in this area. With experts on the panel, our goal as ISTE Virtual Environments is to connect with experts and leaders in the area of AR & VR to help spread the message of impact AR & VR has on learning.
4-6 panelists will be introduced by the Virtual Environments president. Each panelist will share current appplications of the AR or VR medium they are presenting, as well as reasearch. 25 mins
Panelist will offer a glimpse into what will come next in AR & VR and how it will affect education. 15 mins
Q&A. During the session, we will have a Q&A respository to collect questions, as well as a PLN member moving in the audience to field questions for the panelists. 20 mins

James McCrary is the director of technology and innovation at St. James Episcopal Day School in Baton Rouge. He has a background as a social studies educator and technology specialist. An Apple Distinguished Educator, Google Innovator, and Common Sense Media Certified Educator, he is passionate about integrating technology skills into the classroom and positively impacting students globally. James presents at local, state and international conferences on innovation in education, with a focus on 3D development, especially for augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). He also cohosts "The VR Podcast" discussing how immersion technology is impacting education and business.
