Dr. Helen Crompton is a Professor of Instructional Technology at Old Dominion University, and Executive Director of the Research Institute for Digital Innovation in Learning at ODUGlobal. She is a consultant for ISTE in developing and facilitating courses, authoring ISTE publications, and conducting research on the standards. She also works with the United Nations in advising and developing global education technology policy recommendations.

Dr. Ruggles is an Associate Professor in the Elementary Education program at Utah Valley University with a focus on STEM and educational technology. She teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in the School of Education. Specific areas of interest include preservice teacher preparation, technology integration, and culturally responsive teaching. Her current research is focused on K-6 students' and teachers' understandings and attitudes toward engineering and technology.
Session description
During this panel session, we will highlight how our educator preparation programs have embraced and facilitated the five components of the Digital Equity and Transformation Pledge at our institutions. We will also share how we have explicitly embedded the ISTE Standards across the courses in our programs.
Purpose & objective
This panel presentation will introduce multiple comprehensive models for digital transformation and digital equity designed, developed, and implemented in teacher preparation programs that utilize the standards of the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE). We will highlight the essential elements that support the engagement of every pre-service teacher with multiple opportunities to understand and apply the principles of meaningful technology integration in the teaching and learning processes.

Outline
5 Minutes-Introduction: Introduce the panel, the five components of the ISTE Pledge, and the process for signing.
30 Minutes-Panel Presentation: Each institution on the panel will briefly summarize why they signed the pledge and provide an overview of how they implemented it at their institution.
20 Minutes: Question & Answer from the audience.
5 Minutes: Wrap up and review the signing process.
