Session description

Let's explore how to empower student game design using the Breakout EDU Game Design Studio. Learn about the benefits of game design and how students can change from being consumers to creators of content to show understanding and mastery of academic content in a fun new way!

Purpose & objective

The purpose of the session is to introduce K-12 Educators and Admins to the concept of game design and how this can be used to empower learners to show off a deeper understanding of the content they are learning as well as creating vs. consuming content for academic assessment. Game design is being used in schools all around the world and has been a staple in many classrooms over the past few years as a new way to engage learners and also assess progress from both the students creating these games as well as the players who are completing them.
