Session description

Participants engage in practical, scientifically proven practices to prime learners toward focus and apply this to their classroom, through PD to optimize student learning and productivity. Topics include binaural beats; introducing brain waves, achieve "distracted focus"; calming the primal parts of the brain, reducing anxiety through short guided practices.

Purpose & objective

Provide students with tools to maximize their focus and productivity.
Learn methods to aid students in their overall state of wellness, and performance.
Leverage the technology tools provided to build an inventory of best practices for themselves and their learners.

Outline

There will be a brief discussion about evidence/research to support the use of the optimizing strategies. Following this, three techniques, all available online for free will be shared, and practiced, with discussion about their purpose and applicability. These include:
1. listening to binaural beats,
2. introducing brain waves through achieving a "distracted focus"
3. calming the primal parts of the brain that accelerate anxiety through short guided practices
