Session description

Minecraft CTE City integrates Career Technical Education Pathways across all learning areas including Manufacturing, Agriculture, Technology, Arts, Media, & Entertainment, Hospitality & Tourism, Business, and more. Participants will learn how to incorporate existing CTE Pathways, ISTE standards, and use of critical thinking, literary, mathematic, and scientific knowledge to explore and complete tasks.

Purpose & objective

The purpose of Minecraft (Career Technical Education) CTE City is to introduce and grow the understanding of individual districts' existing CTE pathways and provide an interactive, all-inclusive environment for K-12 students to explore available industry sectors and connect to those opportunities both locally and globally.

Creating a K-12 pipeline for college and career readiness is a desire of educators across the nation. Minecraft CTE City can be downloaded, shared, and replicated by educators to be customized by every educator for their district's specific needs and outcomes.

Minecraft is accessible on every device from PCs to Chromebooks, and now cell phones, making this world accessible to all. Additional pathways will continue to be integrated with the addition of epsorts build challenges and player-vs-player arenas as well as further development of competitive gameplay with embedded interactive challenges in each industry sector.

As a Microsoft Innovative Education Expert, Minecraft Certified Educator and Mentor, a contributor to the creation of Minecraft Esports Toolkit, Minecraft Esports Competition Guide, and a Minecraft Esports Academy Expert, I know the value of esports in both the classroom and in an after school program, for use as an educational explorative tool. I have created and fostered an explorative environment that serves as a motivator for competitive and investigative research in developing student interest and enthusiasm across a variety of educational areas including literacy, mathematics, science, social studies, social/emotional learning, career exploration, and development of overall digital literacy, communication, collaboration, and creativity.
