Barbara DeSantis is the Tech Integration Trainer at the Sayreville School District. Barbara is a STAR Discovery Educator whose blog showcases the practical use of a wide variety of online tools for teaching and learning. A frequent presenter at education, technology and library conferences, Barbara is also Past President of the New Jersey Science Teachers Association. She also serves as a moderator for OK2ASK TeachersFirst sessions.

Session description

We'll highlight hexagonal thinking in several elementary classrooms, including several grade levels, as well as providing scaffolding for a variety of learners. Students can use this format to debate and provide evidence for their connections, and to work collaboratively and record their connections via Screencastify.

Purpose & objective

The purpose is to demonstrate the effective use of hexagonal thinking in a variety of elementary classroom settings.
