Session description

Creative tools like Adobe Express can support the guidelines in the Universal Design for Learning framework. Explore how Adobe Express can be used in your classroom to support variability in all students. Examine ideas of having students set goals, remain engaged and share what they know with Adobe Express.

Purpose & objective

Providing students options for action and expression is essential to the UDL framework. This session will introduce educators to how Adobe Express (free for educators) can be used to allow students opportunities for engagement and action, and expression.

Technology Intervention: Adobe Express

Models Employed: This session will be a whole group station rotation format. We will start with a brief overview of the tool and then dive into how it can be used to support the UDL framework.

Outline

Brief Overview of Adobe Express (10 minutes)

Station 1: Engagement (10 minutes) -We will explore how Express can be used to support the Engagement piece of the UDL framework. Strategies and student samples will be shared.
This station will be peer-to-peer interaction where they will explore opportunities for using Adobe Express to engage students.

Station 2: Representation (10 minutes) -We will explore how Express can be used to support the representation piece of the UDL framework. Strategies and student samples will be shared.
This station will be a device-based station where they will explore how Adobe Express can support language and comprehension.

Station 3: Action and Expression (10 minutes) -We will explore how Express can be used to support the Action and Expression piece of the UDL framework. Strategies and student samples will be shared.
This station will be the teacher-led session. I will share ways they can create assessments which give students choice in action and expression, as well as ways Express can be used for goal tracking.
