Session description

Awareness is extremely important for students and teachers to be their best selves. But how can we ensure that our school libraries foster mindfulness, self-care and inclusion? Join us to discuss awareness, mindfulness, self-care, and inclusion for your learners, your school library facility, and your community.

Purpose & objective

Participants will be able to identify the need for self-care implementation in their school library. They will leave with resources to implement self-care stations, collection evaluation, curate self-care and mindfulness resources for students and educators, and build a custom collection of self-care and mindful resources in their school library. Participants will also be able to identify areas of their school library and digital spaces that may need redesigned in order to meet the needs of their learners, especially those with physical stimuli sensitivities, mental disorders (including anxiety and depression), and special needs.
