Session description

Applying technology, we will develop an intelligent cane that will provide support to people with visual impairment.

Purpose & objective

The main objective is to address inclusion through the implementation of innovative proposals that provide solutions to the various challenges faced daily by people with disabilities.
With the creation of an intelligent cane we will support people with visual impairment to recognize their environment through sensors that will identify objects and possible obstacles that generate unsafe environments and prevent a safe trajectory.
We will create a prototype that will be programmed with Arduino and distance and depth sensors and thus reproduce an alert that will be identified by the user and manage to avoid the obstacle or object.
For our research work we rely on the official website of the National Council for Development and Inclusion, Techno Education and the National Institute for the Blind.

Outline

Sample of the prototype in use, the audience will be able to review and test the prototype and its function while the detailed explanation of the programming and subtle materials is made.
The estimated time for each sample of the prototype in use will be 15-20 minutes.
We will invite the audience to learn about our project and invite them to come to our exhibition space to share more details and make a general demonstration.
