Nancy Penchev is a STEM/Design Teacher and Instructional Technology Coordinator. She has led webinars on Uncommon Test Prep and Incorporating Technology for EdWeb.net and various Teacher Tech webinars for PBS SoCal. She was published in Teaching in the Middle magazine, Association of Middle Level Educators, ISTE point/counterpoint, and PBS SoCal Teacher Blog. Nancy founded Girls Building STEAM and is a local award winner for the National Council for Women in Information Technology and a 2019 honorable mention for the STEM Excellence award from ISTE. She is a 2022-2023 Fulbright DA- Vietnam participant.

Session description

We will share how to find conferences, grants and awards for teachers. We'll also discuss best practices for writing proposals at conferences, how to organize grant requests, and where to find places giving out awards. You can present, get money and receive honors if you know where to look!

Purpose & objective

After attending this presentation, attendees will have a better understanding of how they can write proposals for conference presentations. They will know different places to look for grant funding and how to write requests. They will also be able to locate and create award nominations to help them get recoginition and be able to network with colleagues.
