John Martin is the Vice President, Education at the SIFMA foundation where he is responsible for spearheading partnership and growth strategies for the organization. Prior to joining the SIFMA foundation, John was most recently Senior Director at the College Board where he expanded access to SAT School Day for more than 1.2 million students and 12,000 schools/year. John also previously served as Senior Director of Research and Evaluation at the NYC Department of Education. John has a B.A. in Economics from Columbia University and a Master’s in Education Policy from the Harvard University.

Session description

The SIFMA Foundation is an organization committed to addressing the wealth and opportunity gaps in our society by fostering greater knowledge of the financial markets for young people of all backgrounds. In this session, participants will learn how to leverage technological innovations produced by the foundation to equip their students with the skills to become more knowledgeable, confident, and responsible investors. Tools that will be presented during the session include a new interactive investing simulation that stresses the importance of research and long-term planning, an autonomous investment education module that students can use to learn about saving investing inside or outside of the classroom, and an investing competition that rewards students for utilizing an environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) framework.
