A certified math teacher turned instructional technology specialist - supporting teachers and students through COVID and today to utilize technology in new ways. Recently served as assistant principal and adjunct professor.

Session description

Teachers have thousands of digital tools to choose from, but finding tools that are are appropriate based on students' abilities and learning outcomes can be challenging. Learn about a model that pairs a teacher and an instructional technology coach to select standards and digital tools to enhance lessons and assessments.

Purpose & objective

* Ways to engage in conversations about determining if the use of technology is appropriate in lessons.
* Why/how they can use the TPACK model to determine the appropriateness of using technology in their instruction.
* Why/how they fluctuate through the SAMR model to enhance current instruction and create new learning opportunities with the use of technology.

10 minutes: Overview and development process in creating this model
5 minutes: Combination of presenting and elbow partner sharing/conversations about the use of the TPACK and SAMR models in creation of the lesson design process. Tips used to support teachers to not be overwhelmed with new technologies, using active learning strategies, personalize learning, differentiation and assessment.
