Curriculum Content Developer
Sarah Judd is a Curriculum Content Developer at code.org. They have created inclusive and culturally responsive CS curriculum in their roles as a Computer Science teacher in urban classrooms ranging from 2nd-10th grade, as a curriculum developer at Google CS First, AI4ALL and Girls Who Code, and in after-school programs including Bootstrap and FIRST robotics. They have also worked as a web engineer, and hold a BS in Computer Science from Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
As the Executive Director of Empatico, Ryan’s role is to guide his team to fulfill Empatico’s mission to help students connect with themselves, each other and the world. Ryan has been a technology-for-good advocate and leader for over 25 years. Most notably, Ryan built the top grossing literacy app, Reading Rainbow Skybrary and UNICEF Kid Power, a platform that has empowered kids to use their activity to help save the lives of over 100,000 severely malnourished children around the world. Ryan lives in Los Angeles with his wife and three school age children.

Discover how teaching empathy equips students with the social and emotional skills necessary to thrive in an AI-driven world.
Purpose & objective
The purpose of this session is to explore the role of educators and education leaders in preparing young people for a future where Artificial Intelligence will impact the work they do and the relationships they build.
The objectives are:
1. Understanding the importance of social-emotional learning in the preparation of students for an Artificial Intelligence-driven world.
2. Identifying practical steps educators can take to use AI ethically and model that usage for their students.
3. Understanding how to make STEM, computer science, and artificial intelligence accessible to all students so that they can shape the future of technology with empathy and leveraging their unique identities.
