Opal Davis Dawson is a distinguished author, renowned educational consultant, and a retired award-winning PreK–5 Montessori school principal with over three decades of education expertise. Her visionary leadership and successful implementation of the Understanding by Design® framework have transformed early childhood and primary education. She champions professional learning communities (PLCs) to enhance teaching standards and student achievement. Opal's K-12 experience spans Urban and Rural schools in diverse settings, supporting educators, leaders, and administrators nationally and internationally. With a Master of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education from the University of Louisville, Opal is a dedicated advocate for instructional excellence.
