A panel of technology and instructional coaches from a variety of educational settings across the globe will share challenges and strategies toward building a community of practice to grow their practice. Panelists created the Google for Education Certified Coaches Open Chat to support a global transformation of impactful technology use in schools.

Proposal summary

Purpose & objective

Current technology coaches, instructional coaches, school leaders, and those seeking a coaching role will be able to hear from Google for Education Certified Coaches and those currently going through the coaching curriculum on topics supporting technology transformation and will be able to ask questions to gather the information that will help them do their jobs.

The panelists will respond to questions about the Google for Education Coach Certification/Program and the impact that the pilot program (Dynamic Learning Project) had on their schools. The Dynamic Learning Project found that 78% of teachers felt less stressed about their classroom challenges as a result of working with a coach.

The topics and questions will Bring structure to your coaching practice by leveraging a 5-step model that helps educators use technology meaningfully in their classrooms. Panelists will share information about their active community and share the impact of collaboration.

Jared Johnson, Gilbert Middle School

Jared Johnson is a Digital Learning Coach at Gilbert Middle School in Gilbert, SC and is a Google For Education Trainer, Coach, Innovator, and leader of GEG South Carolina. His passion for impactful technology use in the classroom runs deep. Jared was one of the first 50 coaches to participate in the Dynamic Learning Project (DLP) which was the pilot for the Google for Education Certificated Coaching Program. Jared is now a Mentor Coach with EdTechTeam who is one of the partners involved with Google for Education Certified Coaching Program.
