The purpose of this session is to share ways educators can leverage technology resources and features to promote a better sense of mental well-being. This topic is intended to be a way to support educators as so many are leaving the profession due to stress and personal demands, causing a potential systemic problem of teacher shortages.
As a result of participating in this session, participants will consider their own state of well-being as they learn how to manage email flow, digital communication, and tech notifications to establish healthy boundaries between their personal and professional lives. They will also consider how to broaden their own PLN/social media circle with educators who promote beneficial and relevant content. Strategies for preventing negative feelings when using social media will also be shared. Throughout the session, interactive components will be provided that enable participants to curate ideas and strategies to support the session purpose while fostering a sense of community through digital resources.
Evidence of success will be through the development and curation of content and shared ideas by this community of educators to support the purpose of the session. Participants will have access to the shared resources beyond the session. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to provide feedback on the content shared in the session.
