He is the Global Program Lead for the Google for Education Certified Innovator Program, a global community of over 2000 passionate teachers who use technology to solve big challenges and advocate for impactful use of technology in education. He is a former Secondary School Assistant Headteacher, Geography Teacher, Duke of Edinburgh Lead and Specialist Leader of Education (SLE) and received an Inspirational Educator Award from the Worshipful Company of Educators in 2016.

Session description

Learn how to create interactive dashboards in Google Data Studio. This session will guide you through the basics of setting up your first dashboard and introduce you to the possibilities of connecting data to Data Studio. You will unlock your data in Google Sheets and/or BigQuery!

Purpose & objective

Participants will leave the session with the ability to create an interactive dashboard in Google Data Studio.
Participants will be able to recognise the potential of connecting data from a spreadsheet or BigQuery database to support student learning and progression.

Outline

The audience will be given a simple spreadsheet to design a Data Studio report. The audience will be guided how to connect the data to Data Studio, how to create tables and charts, as well as adding filters to the dashboard.
The audience will also have a demonstration of the potential of connecting different data sources to a Data Studio dashboard.
